So you'd only get help if you come with a pitch, that you know will sell, but not necessarily what you want to.  Of course you have to be flexible, and open to new ideas, but you still have to keep your own idea and vision in mind, or you'll end up being a filmmaker for the money. - that's just my opinion :D But again, I think the article gives a good overview of how it is to start in the business, and especially the part about being humble is important. Well the first quote kind of says “they’ll only help you if it is what sells.” So you’d only get help if you come with a pitch, that you know will sell, but not necessarily what you want to.
