Angry Crew Members Trash Megan Fox, Support Michael Bay

shhh_4x2.jpg

Nikki Finke has broken an amazing story.

In one of the most emotion-laced, angry statements we’ve ever seen, anonymous crew members wrote a letter trashing Megan Fox for her comments comparing Michael Bay to “Hitler” and stating that Transformers was an “unsafe set.”

Their attack on Megan is very personal, and pulls no punches.

We are not advocating for either side. However…

There’s an important lesson to be learned here:

To paraphrase the popular Vegas advertising campaign, “What happens on set, stays on set.”

The last place to air dirty laundry about an unhappy work situation, whether on a movie set, or in the office place, is the media.

Personality conflicts, creative differences, and big egos are all a part of working in Hollywood.

On set, there will be occasional clashes of ideas. Some knock-down, drag-out fights. This happens when creative, passionate people come together under tight deadlines striving for great things.

Realize this is the case, and be prepared for the fact that making a movie or producing a TV show is hard work. You will be under a lot of stress.

Don’t open your mouth and trash, say, a big Hollywood Director like Michael Bay. Make statements deemed unfair and, as the above-mentioned letter proves, people will strike back.

We can’t know the truth about statements made by parties on either side of this argument.

For all we know, Megan is completely justified in her complaints (though calling Bay “Hitler” seems over the top.) But because complaints were aired in the media, instead of behind closed doors, millions upon millions of movie fans are forming opinions about Transformers that have nothing to do with acting or filmmaking.

Our advice: if there’s a problem on set, deal with it on set. Leave it on set. Move on once you leave set.

“The first rule of Fight Club is, you do not talk about Fight Club.”

When it comes to feuds on set, think of it like that.

Call me crazy, but wouldn’t bad mouthing a top Hollywood director be a career ending move? How can she not realize there are consequences for her actions? People don’t just sit down and take abuse (as we saw by the crew’s response).

I can easily see her going the Lindsay Lohan route, starting out a hot commodity and ending up a tabloid punchline.

I 100% agree with you. I disagree with both sides… Megan never should’ve said such a horrible thing about Michael Bay, and the crew shouldn’t have backlashed so badly (although I understand their desire to retort).

My mother made me constantly repeat this mantra when I was a child: “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” I try to stick to it, but as a passionate individual it is often a challenge.

It’s funny because the picture that the crew members paint in their response is the way I always pictured Megan Fox in real life. I never met her, so I couldn’t properly judge, but it was certainly what I was thinking. Recently, however, I saw an interview with her on the internet a few months ago where she was referring to things as “uber-this” and “uber-that”, and my boyfriend made fun of it saying she sounded dumb. When I read it, though, I realized it was exactly the kind of thing that *I* would have said… so I started to see her in a different light. You never know what’s behind any of these public figures, so it’s best not to judge. The crew members say she doesn’t smile much… well, neither do I in the real world. Smiling is an act… unless you find the few people in the world who truly tap into your sense of humor.

So, who knows… I feel bad for the girl. For all we know she’s sitting at home crying from this extremely harsh response. But, then again, no one should EVER call someone “Hitler” to the media.

Eh, whatever. This isn’t going to help out her career.

Who cares. Michael Bay is a crap director, and like I feel about Uwe Boll, should just stop being involved in the movie business altogether. On the flip side, I don’t exactly consider Megan Fox a “world class” actress either.

I give it a few weeks before a kiss-and-makeup happens between the two though…it’s Hollywood.

You need to keep your egos aside when working with someone of the stature of Steven.I hope she has learned her lessons now.
