Joke and Biagio on the Radio Today (Sunday) with Film Courage Noon PST

Joke Fincioen Biagio Messina on Film Courage with David Branin and Karen Worden

They’ve sat down with legends like John Sayles, Ted Hope,
and indie up-and-comers like Gary King and Julie Keck and Jessica King.

And now…well, you read the title of this post :-)

Today (Sunday May 1) we’ll be live at the Film Courage studios at 12 noon PST, 3pm EST.

Not Ashamed to Admit…

…been hoping some day we’d get to visit Film Courage. To us, the show and the people running it (David Branin and Karen Worden) represent everything we love about indie filmmaking.

Film Courage guests speak their minds…no corporate bull. No PR spin. As David and Karen put it themselves, they

“…explore the psychology and passion of filmmakers in their dealings with rejection, adversity, and the criticism they face on a daily basis.”

Sounds like we’ll have plenty to talk about!

A Great Show For Any Indie

If you want to work in the movie business…especailly this brave new world of what the movie business is becoming…you need to be listening to Film Courage (and not just because we’re on!)

Whether you listen to us or not, be sure to check them out…you won’t be sorry.

And if you would like to hear us talk about being married, working in showbiz, and discussing our new movie Dying to do Letterman, you can catch us live by clicking this link for L.A. Talk Radio at 12pm PST, 3pm EST.

Steve’s Voicemail from Cinequest

Check out the voicemail Steve just left me, minutes after announcing the world premiere of our documentary Dying to do Letterman at the Cinequest Film Festival media event.

Announcing the World Premiere of Dying to do Letterman

After six years, the journey is only just beginning.

Cinequesting!

We’re pleased to announce that the world premiere of Dying to do Letterman will be at the Cinequest Film Festival, in San Jose, California, Friday, March 4th at 7pm! The film will also play Sunday, March 6th at 7pm, and Tuesday, March 8th, at 5pm.

Amazing Screening Times!

Cinequest has been ridiculously supportive of Steve and Dying to do Letterman. 7pm on a Friday night? THANK YOU Cinequest! And their support doesn’t stop there. In fact, there will be some other surprise events going on that we can’t talk about just yet…but they’re pretty big!

And to Celebrate…

What better way to celebrate the world premiere of Dying to do Letterman than with a Top Ten List, so here it is…The Top Ten Reasons to Attend the Cinequest Film Festival:

Much more to come! Do you know the way to San Jose?

Happy Holidays: Stay Extraordinary

Dite-Coke-Stay-Extraordinary-Joke-Biagio.jpg

Driving from a lunch pick-up for Biagio’s all day edit session, I passed the new Diet Coke billboards. Their new slogan is STAY EXTRAORDINARY, and maybe it is because I’m cheesy, or really like Diet Coke, but I love the slogan.

So in the spirit of the holiday season, I hope you all take a minute to think about what makes you extraordinary. What sets you apart. What makes you great.

If you need help, please know you’ve all been extraordinary to us in your support, your community and your inspirations. Thank you so much for that!

Stay Extraordinary!

Prove Dreams Matter

Today We Launched the Dying to do Letterman Web Site

Please come visit, watch the video, and leave your email.

Not sure what the movie’s all about?

Steve was told he had incurable liver cancer, and might only have five years to live.

He gave the middle finger to cancer, and decided to live his dream instead. The same dream Steve had ever since he was twelve years old.

One dream.

To perform stand-up comedy on David Letterman’s show.

We Filmed him for Five Years

Everyone said Steve’s dream was impossible. Naysayers accused him of wasting the little time he had left. Some even pitied Steve.

Steve didn’t care.

He Said He Would Live His Dream or Die Trying

Well, he’s still alive, and our movie is done. So, along with Steve, we’ve hopped on the “underdog train.” We’ve made a tiny movie with a big message, “It’s not how much time you have, it’s what you do with it.”

Will you help us bring Steve’s story to the world? You can help right now, and it won’t cost you a dime. Here’s what we’re asking:

Prove Dreams Matter

  1. Visit The Official Dying to do Letterman Site
  2. Watch the two minute clip from Steve
  3. Leave us your email

From the two of us, and Steve, we thank you.

Dream big,

Joke and Biagio
