Ryan,
Wow! Well, first off, I should probably kill that Sundance deadline...we're not making it! For some reason I thought we had a couple more months, so I appreciate the heads up.

ON the shooting side...this is going to be a puzzle! Because it was zero budget, we have footage from just about every kind of camera you can imagine. XL1. GL2. DVX100. HVX. We even have some footage on the RED.

We knew this going in, but it was the only way to get it done. When the doc started, we didn't even own much of our own gear yet, much less have money to fund it. So it's been a giant labor of love, with like a million different cameras, and a hell of a post process ahead of us.

I have some creative ideas to get around blowing up some of the SD footage, and we're also going to be creatively using hi-res stills. Plus, there will be some very special graphics packages to go along with some of Steve's Narration. I'll be building those in Cinema 4d.

This will lead to one heck of a soup, but I have confidence in the end we'll be able to get a blow-up out of it.

I will definitely detail the process over the coming months!

Thanks for your comment, Ryan, and for the Sundance link.

Get editing!!! The late submission deadline for Sundance this year is September 25.
http://www.sundance.org/submissions/
It's not the postmark deadline -- this is the date by which your film MUST be received in their office. At least some early cut or version. When you get in, you can still keep editing up until a few weeks before the festival. So, I hear.

What cameras/formats have you shot on over the years?

Thanks so much! We would love to take it to Sundance, but the truth is we're going to do whatever we have to so that people can see Steve's story. So whether it's Sundace, or another big festival that steps up and is willing to give us a prime slot, we're open. Of course, first I have to do the greatest editing of my entire life...which I will do. I promised Steve when we started this that if he got on Letterman, I'd get us an Oscar. Yikes! Looks like I got a tall order ahead of me : ) No matter what happens, though, I know people will respond to Steve's story, and I think the movie will be not only inspirational, but believe it or not, funny! I mean, Steve's a comedian after all!
