Season 1 of “Scream Queens” gathered 10 unknown actresses to vie for an unprecedented prize — a break-out role in “Saw VI” from Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures.
The First Scream Queen
Total unknown Tanedra Howard, who taught herself to act by practicing in the bedroom of her childhood home in Inglewood, shocked everyone with her natural talent and “never say die” attitude. She earned the season 1 title of Scream Queen, and a world-wide audience with her performance in “Saw VI.”
She did so well, the film’s producers are bringing her back for the next installment of the “Saw” series.
Season 2 of Scream Queens: Bigger, Scarier, More Challenging
The contestants will compete in a series of acting challenges designed to prove they have the smarts, talent and strength to succeed in Hollywood’s hardest genre–horror. From working with slimy creatures, insects, gore and stunts to acting across from A-list talent, the girls must tackle an intense horror-acting boot camp if they want a chance to win.
The cast will be schooled and judged by a team of 3. Tim Sullivan, writer/director/producer of such horror films as “2001 Maniacs” and “Driftwood,” will direct the girls during the show’s weekly screen tests; Jaime King, acclaimed actress of movies like “Pearl Harbor,” “My Bloody Valentine 3D,” and the upcoming remake of “Mother’s Day” will mentor them from the perspective of a real Scream Queen; and Hollywood’s toughest acting coach, John Homa, will employ his ass-kicking style to force the women to fight their inner demons before they fight their on-screen demons.
Over the course of the series’ eight one-hour episodes, those skilled and sexy enough to command the screen, and impress the judges, survive. Those who don’t will “get the axe” until only one strong, seductive and stellar actress remains, earning the break-out role in “Saw 3D” and the title of Scream Queen.
