In this Twitterview, James Gunn takes questions from his Twitter followers about Scream Queens and poses them to season 1 winner Tanedra Howard.
How was it on the set of Saw 6? Who does Tanedra still talk to from season 1? (You’ll never believe who she’s closest with!) Star of TV’s CASTLE, Nathan Fillion tweets a question…who knew he was a fan? And why does @WongoWoman want to know how Tanedra’s throat is doing?
For those of you who are tech savvy, this was shot on the RED (same camera used in District 9) and is the first of a series of RED reality tests we’re doing at Joke Productions.
Love it!! I was cheering for Tanedra the whole time, so it’s great to see her again and hear that she’s doing so well. Hope season 2 is just around the corner!! Good luck with your casting.
The RED footage looks great!!! How many REDs were rolling for the interview?
I was worried that it might be tough for REDs to fit in the reality world shooting style. The RED is a beast. Much more demanding on the operator than an ENG camera. Pulling focus can be really trickier on the RED with its much lower DOF. Will each camera op pull his own focus?
But as more and more networks go to HD, shooting with the RED will extend the shelf life greatly.
REDs should work great for all the mini-movies of SQ2. Do you think the entire show could go RED?
Oh Ryan, you are asking all the right questions! And this was the easy test! We are cutting the run and gun stuff right now. We have a huge post coming up breaking down how we are doing it. It’s not easy! Adam Sampson ran the long lens stuff and pulled his own focus, but much more to come. Please spread the word…I really think we are the first to try shoooting reality on the RED. And yes, plan on shooting mini movies of season 2 of SQ on RED. BTW, this was 2 RED cams on prime lenses, one wide, one telephoto, no zoom!
