Getting Outer Space

So, we’re on a shoot in the middle of Louisiana. The PA (production assistant) a funny kid named Kemerton Hargrove, says, “Hey, me and my friend Evan made a movie. It’s kind of embarrassing because I acted in it, too. You want to see the trailer?”

Now, this happens fairly often on these shoots, and we see projects of…varying quality.

Then he plays me what I’ve embedded below. Seriously? THIS is what kids are making with no money for their first features? Well, not all kids…we’ve seen many first efforts that are nowhere near this good. Now, full disclosure: I haven’t seen the movie yet, but darn, what a sweet trailer.

Directed by Evan Falbaum, and largely produced by Evan and Kemerton, the two were friends in high school film class together. Shot on a 7D, they just went out and made their movie all last year, shooting and editing whenever they could find time.

Cast Kemerton in your Next Film

Can one of you indie filmmakers out there please make Kemerton a huge star? He needs to be popping up in all the new “Juno”s of the world. (He’s the main guy in the trailer, who jumps into the pool at the beginning.)

More on this to come…lunch is over and I have to get back to the shoot. But wanted to pop this up. Nice job, Kemerton. Follow him on twitter, and be sure to check out the official site for Getting Outer Space.
